This is a wood barrel pen meticulously crafted from zelkova, a representative hardwood of Japan. The wood used in this piece was stored for a long time in a kura (storehouse) built during the Meiji period. The exact age is unknown, but it is wood that has quietly aged for at least 100 years.

Its calm reddish-brown color and naturally appearing luster. The deep expression, slightly different from new zelkova wood, is a unique charm of this material. I believe the texture, which feels somehow gentle amidst its strength, is a result of its long history.

The color will deepen further and the luster will increase with use. Please enjoy the aging process, as the pen's expression slowly develops with your writing time.

For the pen's metal parts, we use domestically produced hardware that suppresses wobbling during writing and ensures long-term, reliable use. Its moderate weight and precision harmonize well with the texture of the wood barrel.
