This is a wood-barreled pen meticulously crafted from zelkova, one of Japan's representative hardwoods.
For this pen, we used zelkova wood that had been stored for a long time in a storehouse built during the Meiji period. While the exact age is unknown, this wood has quietly aged for at least 100 years.

The calm reddish-brown color and naturally developed luster.
The deep, distinctive appearance, slightly different from new zelkova wood, is the unique charm of this wood. I believe that the texture, which conveys a sense of gentleness amidst its strength, was born precisely because the material has endured such a long time.

With continued use, the color will become even more subdued, and the luster will deepen.

For the pen hardware, we use domestically produced fittings that suppress shaking during writing and ensure long-term, reliable use.
