Urajirogashi (Quercus salicina) is an evergreen tree of the beech family that grows wild in central Honshu westward, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Its name comes from the fact that the underside of its leaves appear whitish. It has long been used as a building material and for tools, and is known as a very hard and durable wood.

This pen is crafted from Urajirogashi wood, with each piece carefully finished.

The wood grain, ranging from pale yellowish-brown to a slightly reddish-brown, possesses a rustic yet understated beauty.
